Salsa Pics

You may be wondering why there are more pics of Mango and Chutney then there are of Salsa.
Salsa is a bit skitish when it comes to being handled, (not a fan at all.) She like to jump out of my hands. I am working to calm her down.

So its harder to take good pics of her when she is under the red lights of the tank.

Enjoy!

Chutney jumping

Chutney jumping for a locust.  What a strike!!

New food

I decided to have a change of diet for my gang.
Instead of noisy crickets i got a tub of Small locusts, they are about 1 inch long (which is small for a locust, they can grow to 6 inches.)

They are slower which makes them easier to catch, but the can jump further then a cricket, which makes it entertaining to watch the gecko munching on them.

Night time exploring

All of the trio are out tonight, wandering there viv. Chutney is doing his best to open the sliding door, Salsa is stalking a unsuspecting cricket and Mango is shedding her skin.

Huge!!!

I am really amazed by my trio of Leos.
Salsa is really starting to put on the grams. She is now double the size she was when i got her. The yellow is really bright, so i think she is a High Yellow morph.
Chutney is gaining weight at a steady pace to, he is about to shed again. He has started to develop a lot of spots, but still has a hint of a lilac color to his sides. He is also a lot lighter to.
Mango is getting a huge tail, which is a really good sign that she is eating her food. She is a Normal morph as she has a amazing yellow and lots of spots.

Having a munch

This is Chutney having his wax worm treat!

Mango wanted more so she tried to nick Chutneys.

Salsa is not keen on wax worms.

Gecko buffet

A geckos main diet are insects.
In the wild they will hunt out crickets and other bugs.
They have very good night vision so eating in the dark is easy for them.  Geckos will also eat Mealworms and Pinkies (day old mice)

I feed my gang a mix of Crickets and Mealworms. They are still a bit small to try pinkies as they prefer live food.

Wax worms

I am giving my gang of Leo's a treat today.
Wax Worms

I give them 3 each once a week. Mango and Chutney love them but Salsa is not interested.
Due to the high fat content in these little worms they should be only given to geckos as a treat.  They can also be quiet addictive, like sweets are to a child.

Wax Worms are the larval stage of the Wax Moth.

Mango shedding

Mango started to sit in her water bowl yesterday. i have never seen a gecko sit in water befor so i was a bit puzzled. But today it all came clear. Mango has started to shed. This morning she was all white and dusty now she is walking around with skin falling of her. i have a wet box in the tank so this should help skin come of easier!

Crickets

Ahhh, a cricket is lost in my room!!
Don't mind that, its the noise when they chirp which is pissing me off!! You can get "silent" crickets which are bred to not develop wing cases, which makes the noise when rubbed together. But he was out of stock.

Grrr, loud little bugger!

Gecko cam

I am attempting to set up a web cam to stream live videos of my geckos. As i am not a computer nerd i am having problems doing it.

So i am uploading small videos that i have caught on my camera until i get it up and running.

Enjoy!!

This camera i set up to show the entrance of there favorite hiding place.
Keep watching as they will appear.

Please remember Geckos are not trained actor's and very shy, so expect a lot!

Happy Geckos

The Trio are settling in well, Chutney and Salsa have already started to eat mealworms and crickets. Saw them having a munch on some helpless crickets last night.  Not seen mango eat yet, but all the crickets were gone this morning (Put about 10 in the tank.)

So thats good news.
